The old axiom that 'patience will achieve more than force' seems particularly true in the case of Riku Turpeinen and Los Hermos Band. A singer-songwriter and frontman for Los Hermos Band out of Helsinki, Riku has been making music for most of his life. Los Hermos Band has been together for over twenty years, playing their unique brand of synth pop rock music in English. Though they have performed at some large events, such as a show at Finlandia Hall in Helsinki, gaining the attention of broader audiences had proven to be a challanege. But when their debut single 'Studio Life' began popping up on radio a few months ago, listeners began to take notice. Whether it is their uncoventional origins, musicianship or songwriting that is winning over audiences is not yet clear. What is clear is that staying true to themselves through the many years has begun to pay off. The buzz around this Finnish ensemble continues to grow, even as they plan their first U.S. show in New York for the end of 2015. Reporter Lily Clark recently interviewed Riku Turpeinen of Los Hermos Band to learn more about this intriguing artist and what we can expect from the group in the near future.
